Paintings and works on paper by William Martin Jean with an Asian influence are developed using subtle color and textural relationships, intended to create a sense of order and quiet introspection. Many of the works have been inspired by architecture and landscapes, and have a sense of serene classicism. Touches of gold leaf embellish many of the rich surfaces.
